Choosing can be the challenge

It was a very grey overcast afternoon, not that exciting for summer or photography. Yet there are a few flowers bringing a little brightness to the garden. Now the problem is choosing which should be my daily photo post?

PhotoFriday :: back to B&W

I normally skip over the B&W effects and presets but I thought I would have a look around the OnOne’s Perfect B&W filters, to try and bring out the drama in the sky and texture in the waves in what was an otherwise bland image. Takes me back to the days of Kodak Tri-X and Ilford Grade 5.

Hello from DaisyWorld

The warmer spring weather has bought out a fresh flush of blooms in my own little DaisyWorld (the more famous daisy world is a nice mathematical model created by James Lovelock to describe his Gaia Hypothesis . If you want a quick overview of the model try this flash animation.

QED: As in the mathematical model in the colder periods, the darker (coloured daisy) predominate this first flowering (only the daisy bushes that are flowering are shown)

PhotoFriday :: minimalist

This is a foam creature. I grow them often when I am molding my rock art with “expanding” foam. Normally they are disguarded, but I thought this one could have a few seconds of fame. It seemed a good subject for a high key understated photo, my idea of minimal.
