The Patch :: first submission

The patch is a group on Google+ that offers a weekly themed challenge and it seemed the obvious way for me to try and re-engage with google+ photo community.

I was deferring my first submission, mainly due to lack of inspiration, but I was investigating photographing a magnified image and depth of field. The place to focus is no longer where the object actually is! So Other items at the same location can be "blurred". This is all old school stuff but I realized I was looking at the issues a new. 
So I had my new year/renewal inspiration (hopely just in time)
