An observation on auto straightening tools

The automatic straighten and rotate tools available in some photo editors are pretty hopeless. They often pick the wrong part of the image to use as a reference,



I can only presume that adobe had picked the strong contrast of the window edge to use as its vertical reference. Problem is, few auto straighten tools know aeroplanes have portholes!
